... the Spartan sharpening his machete like blade

By far, my favorite part of the entire trailer.  My panties dropped when I saw that guy.    ;D

... hinted at squad based play and the language of some of the Spartans in the trailer also hints at that
At the very end when someone mentioned that the "lone wolf" tactics aren't going to cut it, pretty much frames the game to be squad based.

Halo Reach track available free on Bungie.net

Bungie have today placed the piece of music that Marty O'Donnell composed for the debut Halo Reach trailer on Bungie.net. You can download this track for free, and is available as an .mp3 file from here. The music itself is incredibly somber, aimed to portray the attitude of Noble Team, and well worth grabbing before Bungie possibly remove it from their site.

Alongside this, a new 15 minute documentary featuring an interview that Channel 9 and Inside Xbox have done with Marty has also been released too, it is incredibly in-depth and provides a very fascinating insight into the world of creating soundtracks, let alone those for video games. You can check that out at this link.

Big congratulations are also due as well to Marty, for winning Best Original Score at the VGAs for his compositional work on Halo 3: ODST – an absolutely stunning soundtrack, and well worthy of the award.

Halo: Reach detailed in next Game Informer

Here's the news, Halo fans: You're going to buy the February issue of Game Informer. The magazine will have a ten page cover story on Halo: Reach, including screens, details and -- as illustrated by the cover above -- some new artwork. In addition to the cover story, the Halo: Reach hub on GameInformer.com will be receiving updates throughout the rest of January, including a look at the Halo franchise, profiles of Bungie and 343 Industries employees and "expanded details on the new game." The next update is set to drop on Tuesday, January 12.

In the meantime, we'll be scrutinizing every detail of the cover for clues about the game. For example, did you notice that the third Spartan from the left has a skull painted on his visor? Because he totally does.

It's a US mag I think, but all the scans will be on the interweb as soon as it's on sale.

Maybe i should get neato to buy it and read it to me over the phone, but only if he sounds like Morgan Freeman!

:D that image made me laugh

Anyway just to keep you going I though I would post a bit of Bungies weekly blog:

"I thought about kicking the first update of the New Year off by regurgitating the historically unfunny "joke" about how it's a brand new decade and all the things they've promised us (whoever they are) have still failed to come to fruition. Flying cars and all that. But after my turbobed slid back into its compartment and my personal nanohive worked their invisible suds and sundries all ova mah hot bahwdy, I yanked my unisex tunic defiantly over my head and decided that I would spare you from my unoriginal and prognostication-disparaging thoughts.

See? Something to be thankful for already in 2010.

So yeah, anyway, 2009 is toast and we're back on the job, fresh off a two week holiday break and already attacking the ongoing task of making Reach kick even more ass than it already does."

If you interested you can gp to Bungie.Net to read the rest
Like I just did...I am so bored :D

I hate jokes that rely on visual imagery.

I've had it right up to here with them.

Halo Reach revealed in Edge
Bungie's last Halo exposed in next issue; See all-new art here

Xbox 360's self-confessed "biggest title" of the year, Halo Reach, is revealed in full in the next issue of Edge Magazine.

In issue 211 of Edge, the team visits Bungie to find out how Reach will fall, and exactly why the studio's last Halo will go out with a bang.

Readers should expect eight pages of details and insight direct from the Bungie studio, as well as the first ever images of massive Halo prequel (see the cover tease on this very page).

Further more, readers should expect the usual run of reviews, features and opinion columns amongst the mag's smooth and shiny pages.

Edge Issue 211 is on sale from Jan 21.
