It is a dangerous game.

If you do mod your console, at least never put your actual profile on it.  Everytime you sign into Xbox Live, the console being used is logged to your gamertag's permanent record.  Create a new gamertag that you won't care to lose.

I like to buy games and own them and have them in my collection. I buy a lot of games new (but at cheap prices) therefore im supporting the industry w000p

...... i also run the 2nd hand games shop .... contributing to the downfall. with one hand we give and t'other take away!

i like to buy them cheap too, for my collection. I like looking at them all lined up like beautiful little diamonds that sparkle with brilliance and wonder. I buy one brand new every couple of months or so as well, and the rest i rent. I would never mod my 360, it means too much to me.

MS selects celebrity Reach team leader

Microsoft has finally chosen the guy who will teach Rio Ferdinand and a galaxy of other sort-of celebrities to play Halo: Reach so they can get thumped by experienced players at the game's UK launch event.

17-year-old Lewis Chapman from Newark in Nottinghamshire apparently had to go through a "rigorous interview process where he was grilled by a panel about his knowledge of Halo, his dreams and aspirations as well as why he was the best man for the job". Good grief.

Chapman will now go on to mentor England and Man United footballer Ferdinand, R'n'B artist Mr Hudson, T4 presenter Jameela Jamil, England rugby man Ben Cohen and Gadget Show presenter Jason Bradbury.

"I would like to say to my new team members, 'Get practicing! You might be celebrities, but you better be good on the night!'" said Chapman, emphasis presumably on "might be".

"I will do everything that I can, as their leader to beat the opposing team."

The opposing team will consist of six "top gamers" chosen from the Halo community.

Rio Ferdinand also had a message about his team leader prior to the selection process when the "Elite Spartan Squad" was announced.

"His or her voice won't be as deep as ours. They'll be squeaking and telling us exactly where to run and who to shoot," he said. "We're playing catch-up all the time. But the talent we possess, we're not far behind." Amazing scenes.

Halo: Reach is due out for Xbox 360 on 14th September.

Halo Reach Legendary Ed gets extra content
Bungie details another treat for buyers of the $150 Legendary Edition

Those of you planning to splash the cash on the $150 Legendary Edition of Halo Reach are in for a unexpected treat.

Bungie has revealed the package will come with a two-hour developer commentary video for the campaign. In Bungie's words:

"To commemorate those fans who picked up the Legendary Edition of Halo: Reach - Creative Director, Marcus Lehto, Audio Director and Composer, Marty O'Donnell, Cinematics and Story Lead, Lee Wilson, and Effects Lead, Steve Scott sit down together to deliver two full hours of exclusive, behind-the-scenes campaign commentary covering unrevealed aspects of Halo: Reach's production. From concept to cutting room floor, this last look back is the final word on Halo: Reach's development, straight from the team that built the game."

That's the entire campaign played through for your viewing pleasure, "judiciously edited" down to the two-hour mark. This comes in addition to the "Legendary Noble 6 Sculpture" and all the other goodies in the Legendary box.

Of course, the video will contain huge spoilers, so finish the game before you watch it, innit.
