I run my own buisness and generally have 12 hour days,6/7 days a week.
Not only that, but also have a 2 year old trying to break everything in sight and won't stop touching my laptop whilst working.
He's already broken my external hard drive with all my quotes, invoices etc. on it and just got a new one and had all the data transfered onto it.
Probably why I don't get to game much Friday nights anymore.....just too tired!

Jeez she was only explaining why she was tired, vicki's job is very physically and mentally demanding as she cares for people with Huntingtons disease and usually ends up coming home battered and bruised (literally) due to the patients flailing their arms uncontrollably and punching and kicking her, that's why she isn't always on the ball on the forums. I don't think she was saying she works harder than you sarge, just defending herself i think. Just sayin'  :)

dfusioness

not to mention being barfed on, headbutted, and other stuff way to graphic to mention, but i really wasnt trying to make out i work harder than anyone, just explaining why sometimes what i write probably wont make much sense xx

NeuroticSarge

No,wasn't being in anyway nasty, just explaining my predicament as well.
We all get tired, and not only that, she probably has to come home and look after you ,clear up,cook dinner, hoover etc. ;)

dfusioness

ha, if only that was true- he's amazing, he not only has a full career playing the 360 but he does clean, wash up ect-i dont know where he finds the time x

Bungie bans 15,000 Halo: Reach cheaters

Bungie has banned a whopping 15,000 Halo: Reach cheaters – and promised more is to come.

Some sneaky Reach players (not you, we hope) had found a way to earn cheap in-game credits via an exploit.

It's all to do with something called "network manipulation and other easily detectable workarounds that fall well outside of standard gameplay".

The developer's answer? Wipe their credits out and ban them from obtaining credits for one day.

"Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via intentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects)," Bungie said.

"Spot checks have revealed the tell-tale signature of this behaviour on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.

"We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.

"A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.

"As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.

"A more comprehensive pass will be occurring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider."

You have been warned.

Good.

If you're bored, take a look at the Bungie.net forums for some cheap laughs.  Lots of "quitters" complaining about the 15-minute ban for quitting matches, and other various nerd ragings.

First Halo: Reach map pack revealed

Halo: Reach's first map pack will be released on 30th November, Bungie's announced.

The Noble Map Pack includes three new maps: Tempest, Anchor 9 and Breakpoint. Pics are below.

New Achievements and a total of 250 Gamerscore are up for grabs. It'll cost 800 Microsoft Points (£6.85 / €9.60).

"Our DLC team has been hard at work these last few months, cloistered together in the heart of the studio preparing three new multiplayer maps for your Halo: Reach multiplayer pleasure," community man Eric Osborne wrote on Bungie.net.

"Though they're still putting the finishing touches on what we've now dubbed the Noble Map Pack as we speak, we've been itching like crazy to show off the trio of maps for quite some time now. Today, you get your first good look."

In Anchor 9 orbital dockyards provide rapid refuelling and repairs for a variety of UNSC vessels. "Within the confines of this low orbit dry-dock, UNSC craft undergo rapid repair and rearmament in support of the enduring war effort. But for the small squads of infantry who now fight over the mirrored interior hallways and open central hangar bay, this platform no longer provides any safe harbor whatsoever – whether the close quarters combat is occurring inside or out of its artificial gravitational field." It's for two to eight players in game variants including Free for All, Team Slayer and Team Objective.

Tempest, on the other hand, is an abandoned shoreline facility that "bends both sea and sky to an unnatural purpose, but the ground itself has quickly become another all too familiar battlefield. Though the two opposing symmetrical bases may never reveal their ancient purpose, both now offer makeshift shelter and access to strategic routes perfectly suited for small and large scale skirmishes alike".

Tempest supports eight to sixteen players and offers modes including Free for All, Team Slayer, Team Objective and Big Team Battle. It also provides players with a huge Forge palette, allowing them to create new custom map variants.

And finally, Breakpoint. "Atop this icy precipice, the Invasion continues. These modular archaeological labs were never intended to withstand such a large scale onslaught of Covenant military power, but the information being extracted here may prove vital to humanity's survival. In response to the imminent Covenant threat, UNSC ground and air assets have been deployed to bolster entrenched Spartan countermeasures. This site must yield salvation, or it will become a grave."

Breakpoint offers multiplayer for 8-16 players and supports the Invasion and Big Team Battle game variants.

Meanwhile, Bungie announced the start of its official Forgetacular Contest, which begins now.

NPD: Halo: Reach sells 3.3 million in September
Bungie's shooter the runaway leader on monthly US chart

Halo: Reach sold 3.3 million copies in the US during its launch month of September, according NPD figures provided by Microsoft.

Bungie's Halo farewell is only the third game this console generation to surpass three million unit sales in its first month, the first being Halo 3.

The game, which is due to receive its first batch of DLC on November 20, also recorded the fifth biggest ever launch week in the UK following its September 14 release.

Earlier this week the NPD Group announced plans to restrict free press access to monthly hardware unit sales figures or sales numbers for the month's top five games, beginning with September's market data.

However, the platform holders that do well each month will likely provide us with some sales figures, while NPD analyst Anita Frazier will include software sales numbers for various new releases in her monthly coverage. Other people who actually pay for the data like analyst Michael Pachter are bound to throw a few numbers our way too.

We're particularly keen to see how PlayStation Move performed last month in the States, and we'll publish any additional sales information as it comes in.

Over 16,000 Years Spent Playing Halo Reach So Far And Other Terrifying Stats

Okay, Halo Reach is popular. Everyone gets that. But how often do you get to see a game's popularity quantified in such stark figures? Yesterday Bungie revealed that in its first month of release, gamers have already spent 16,445 years of total time playing Halo Reach.

This stat comes with a bunch of others in Bungie's most recent Weekly Update. Among the other astounding numbers:

-784 million player-games have been played (each game is counted once per player)
-544 billion in-game credits have been earned
-about 4 million screenshots have been uploaded
-almost 6 million total files have been uploaded

In addition to the stats, Bungie revealed some more interesting news for Reach's future. With the Noble Map Pack DLC on the way, they announced that unlike with previous Halo titles, DLC maps will not be put into separate playlists. Instead, the matchmaking will intelligently segment players who have the new maps so that everyone can still jump into the same playlists together.

Bungie also announced that they will be raising the current multiplayer level cap when the community completes 117 million daily and weekly challenges. According to internal estimates, the Reach community should hit this milestone in November, at which point players will finally be able to progress past the rank of Lt. Colonel Grade 3. New armor will also be made available in the Armory at this time.

So yes, with all of that exciting news for the future, that 16,000 years of Halo Reach is sure to continue growing. Cue the snarky comments about how we could have put that energy toward curing cancer, etc.

If we end up collecting more interesting custom maps/variants, we may create a separate thread.  But for now I'll just post them here.

A rediculous, pointless map created by our friend LastSlamurai.  No objective other than to jump into Godzilla's mouth and let him spit you out into the ocean.

Funny.
