Quantum Theory not PS3 exclusive
Tecmo's Gears of War-alike now headed for 360

The Gears of War-mimicking action shooter, Quantum Theory, is no longer a PS3 exclusive as it's now down for a 360 release, confirms Tecmo, both due for Spring 2010.

As Tecmo explains: "Quantum Theory is Tecmo Koei Europe's newest original IP and the company's first attempt at the third-person shooter genre. Players take on the role of the massive, gun-wielding warrior Syd and will battle through intense action sequences in an unpredictable, shape-shifting battlefield, aided by the mysterious acrobatic Filena.

"In addition to single player campaign, Quantum Theory also supports four modes of online multiplayer, complete with voice chat for real-time communication."

We've got some new shots for you, too. Fans of Epic's shooter may see some slight similarities.

Quantum Theory Release Date & Limited Edition Revealed

After the shocking announcement of Quantum Theory releasing on the XBOX 360, Tecmo officially announced today that both versions will have a simultaneous release on March 25, 2010. Both platforms will get a standard and limited edition priced at 7,980Y and 9,980.

Quantum Theory Limited Edition will include the soundtrack of the game and a voucher code to unlock an extra character . The current release date pertains only to Japan, as of now the North American and Europe territories are still TBA.

Unapologetic Gears clone, but I think it looks like a fun game. Faster movements and over-the-op melee attacks may actually make this game more enjoyable to me. Whenever I play Gears, I feel like I'm trying to move under water.
