Force Unleashed II demo next week

LucasArts has revealed that the demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II will be released next week on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

The date give is 12th October, although we imagine that will translate to Wednesday 13th in Europe as far as the PSN update is concerned.

The demo level, taken from the beginning of the game, involves Starkiller becoming tormented by the memories of his past, unleashing the power of dual lightsabers and Jedi mind tricks, and beginning a journey in search of the truth and a woman he cannot forget.

Sounds dramatic. The game proper is out on 29th October, on 360, PC and PS3, but there's no word of a PC demo.

I enjoyed the first one and will try the demo.
But i wont be getting it day one as it's foolishly chosen the same release date as rock band 3, i know where my money will go that day.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, but I really didn't like The Force Unleashed so I won't be getting this.

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

Failed

Just started playing this and if you like the first game then you'll enjoy this too as it's pretty much all the same as the first game.

General Jedi badassery abound, massive bosses with the best QTE's in a game. A much darker story but the graphics have improved and the combat is fluid. The holocrons are a little easier to find this time, the camera is still dodgy but the main let down, a massive let down is the huge amount of ingame lag.... HOW?! who knows, probably all the fancy lightning and force sh*t going on.

Still it's a great slice of Star Wars, with the iconic music style and even scenes that change just like they did in the old movies.

great fun, bad lag.

is it worth playing the first game or is it easy enough to jump into the sequel?

If the story is important to you yeah but otherwise no

I would get the first one if you never played it. You should get it really cheap and if you enjoy it then the second will be coming down in price soon enough. When the score whores start trading it in a week later

The first game, while a bit repetitive, was good, far too short though as this will no doubt be so it's a rental for me, like pretty much everything these days.   :)

you MUST play the first game, the story is a continuation from the first and the first game has better tutorials. TFU2 assumes you've played the first game, so doesn't really hold your hand and is much harder than the 1st game.

On a great note, i've just unlocked a Guy Theekbrush alternate costume....  RANDOM!

I've had the first game for a while, but have yet to open it.  I'm really liking what I'm seeing in the sequel, so I've moved my unopened copy of the first game at the top of my "when-I-get-around-to-it" list.   :)

The 2nd game is etremely short too, i'm right near the last boss and i've played about 5 hours
