Halo 3: ODST

Bungie.net has been updated to include stats from Halo 3: ODST.
With Halo 3: ODST due for worldwide release on Tuesday, Bungie's site now tracks the amount of gamerscore and achievements you've managed to pluck from it.

There's also a new 'Road To Recon' feature, which tracks the amount of Vidmaster Challenges completed on your way to unlocking the famous Recon armour. The challenges are ridiculously hard but regardless, feel free to insert your own 'you can now haz Recon' joke.

I had a mooch over the ODST site last night, watched the new VidDoc, saw a glimpse of a new enemy

Avoided the stats and achievement pages though, don't wanna spoil it too much!?

Played the first few flashbacks on my mate's xbox last night. It's all a bit the same for me. And my mate was very pissed off that a human could carry turrets and flip warthogs. There's no difference between what Master Chief and these ODST's can do, which is a bit wrong. Great voice acting though from Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin.

I haven't played it yet, but I actually had the same nerd argument in my head when I saw those in the trailers.

I settled on the conclusion that the turrets in ODST are made with an ultra-lightweight alloy. And the warthogs are equipped with some type of gravity-centering sensor that uprights itself when an ODST soldier initiates it.

You can't change your armor colour for you ODST, but my little icon/badge is a cross between sunset salmon and rabid flamingo.

Loving ODST, therefore i can overlook the fact they can carry turrets (i could carry one, RAWR) and flipping hogs with some sort of pulley and lever system. You can flip a tank too

Apart from looking past the superficial, the game is amazin', the atmosphere, acting, music are all better than Halo 3 AND it's exactly the same combat! what more could i want (except some sort of girlish armor, can't wait to unlock Dare)

Halo 3: ODST logs over 900K players in one day

It's been on store shelves for less than two days and Halo 3: ODST has logged nearly a million players in the last 24 hours. More specifically, according to Bungie.net, the game had logged 936,278 players when this post was written. All of those troopers have managed to put away 5,653,310 games. That's roughly six games per person in a 24-hour period. On a weekday. We don't want to jump the gun here, but Bungie just might have a success on its hands.
