I won't be able to get 100% cheevo I skipped this one level when you had to stop the horse from running away  :(

Legion

RDR is probably the second best game of the year so far (behind Mass Effect 2). I've spent ages perfecting the single player and started working on multiplayer. I can't get enough of it. This is only the second game that's gotten  me interested in multiplayer gaming. The first was GTAIV. I really hope they can continue the awesomeness with some top notch DLC over the coming year.

I could not agree more with all of the above.

Hands-down, Mass Effect is my favorite current-gen franchise (for now).

RDR really surprised me.  I did not expect to love it as much as I did.  I'm a game trader, but RDR is one of the few games that will stay in my collection for a long time.

I hope to 100% it eventually.  I had to take a break because I promised myself I would finish Oblivion before Crackdown 2 comes out.   :-X

Legion

Yeah, anything made by Bioware is just about guaranteed to be one of the top games of that year. And Mass Effect is even far above all those other Bioware games.
I got 100% on the single player of RDR, but I'm not at 100% for achievements yet. But this is one of those few games where achievement hunting for the full 1000G (or 1100 now that the co-op missions are out) is actually fun and worth spending time on. I look forward to the next time I can get a month subscription for XBL.

If you ever need a 48-hour code to join our game nights, just let me know.   ;)

Legion

Well actually, I turned on my Xbox yesterday evening and on the 'Spotlight' tab there was an ad for 1 month of XBL for a quid, so, I have XBL for another month at least. Thanks for the offer though. (:

One RDR murder every six minutes

Someone was murdered in Red Dead Redemption every six minutes during the first two weeks of the game's release.

That means there were a whopping 132,904,068 murders in total, according to Rockstar-released stats gathered by GameSpy.

Those numbers deduced that every RDR player has been run over five times.

RDR witnessed 15,072,596 executions in those two weeks. That's 15,000 times the amount of real people executed in the United States since 1975.

In-game soldier deaths amounted to 13,250,327 - a number equal to the Soviet and American deaths of World War II combined.

Slightly more uplifting figures recorded were 5,773,917 hats shot off during duels, $3bn spent in-game, 8.6 litres of alcohol drunk on average by characters and 300,000 miles travelled by train. That last number equates to travelling around the world 12 times.

The most hunted animal were deer, which lost 28 million of their species.

To accrue all of that, you spent 14 million hours playing the game. You'd need to play for 3710 years on your own to reach such dizzying numbers.

Glad it's been so successful, i think it's a bloody awesome game, much better than GTA IV in my opinion. I will get round to finishing the story mode when this gears 2 x8 xp event is over

Legion

Wow, those are some crazy stats.  Although it's not terribly surprising. I've not been put into anything less than a  half full game since I started playing it online a few days after release.
Still though it's a hell of a lot of hours put into the game so far by gamers everywhere.

Apart from the crazy glitches it's an amazing game, online and off. No doubt it will still be busy online for many months to come, especially if they keep churning out high quality dlc. The free co op dlc is brilliant, i would like more of that please rockstar.

10 seconds into playing my first game of Liar's Dice I thought, "This needs to be put into multiplayer STAT!"  I'm excited to see this release.

I'm not so sure about the 800MSP pricetag ... but I am supergay for this game.  AHHH conflict!   :-\
