I really wish they would do more of these events in the Spring/Summer.  I have very little time to play games in the Fall/Winter.   :'(

No BAFTA for Red Dead Redemption

Despite the fact that Red Dead Redemption will near the top of many gamers' best of 2010 lists, the open-world blockbuster won't be taking home a BAFTA early next year.

CVG reported that the game does not appear in any of the category longlists for the 2011 British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards ceremony.

A spokesperson for BAFTA explained that the game was "eligible for the awards" but Rockstar had "decided not to put the game forward for consideration".

Given that Rockstar seemed happy to pick up a gong for its brilliant western epic at the Spike awards last weekend, this seems a rather peculiar decision. We've asked the developer for more information and will update if it decides to comment.

This year's BAFTA Videogame Awards is due to take place in London on 16th March. Batman: Arkham Asylum cleared up at last year's event, stealing Best Game and Best Gameplay from underneath Uncharted 2's nose.

No BAFTA for Red Dead Redemption

Quite a surprise...probably my favourite game this year.  It's a shame its not going to get the recognition it deserves.

Rockstar: We have more ideas for Red Dead
Studio discusses pride over game's word-of-mouth popularity

Rockstar remains coy over any suggestion of a Red Dead Redemption sequel - but has revealed that it has "a massive number of ideas" for the Western free-roamer that it's yet to use.

Fans are itching for news of a follow-up to the 18-rated epic, which was one of 2010's most successful titles and won a string of Game Of The Year gongs.

Speaking to the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, Rockstar's VP of product development Jeronimo Barrea said that the studio were particularly delighted that the game grew so strongly via word-of-mouth recommendations.

[We're most pleased] either that huge numbers of people loved the game enough to play through to the end, and then encouraged friends to play it - we hope without spoiling the end for them - or at a more basic level... that we could convince that many people that they wanted to play a game about the wild west," said Barrera.

When pressed on whether there was enough material left on the cutting room floor to make a sequel, Barrera teased: "For all the games we work on, we have a massive number of ideas that [don't] make it in."

This is the one game I've fought to stay away from- for no reason other than holding out for a GOTY version...make it so.  >:(

Legion

I think the closest you're gonna get to a GotY version is buying the main game and the Undead Nightmare pack disk seperately. The UN pack is only about £17 new (about a tenner pre-owned is the cheapest I've seen) and it does contain all the paid for DLC, so it's still worth picking up.

A title update is now available for Red Dead Redemption which fixes a load of bugs in the game, along with all of the post-launch DLC.

The full details of the update can be found on Rockstar's official site, but highlights include the game no longer having to reset when swtiching between Multiplayer and Singleplayer.

Multiplayer with people in Japan has also been re-enabled, along with plenty of other multiplayer bug fixes. So if you've been put off Red Dead Redemption by bugs in the past, now might be a good time to try it out again.

Simply load up the game and you'll be prompted to download the update, as long as you're connected to Xbox Live.

Legion

Coulda done with that update this morning when me and a buddy couldn't get into any matches. This HAD to come just after his 48 hour trial ran out too, so we can't play anything for a while now D:
Still though, shoudl be a good update, I'll download it when I wake up tonight I think :D

You may be right, buying me some time is the fact that going through Fallout: New Vegas, Mass Effect 2, and having just recently picked up Batman Arkham Asylum (GOTY) is going to prove somewhat time consuming. :P

RDR is definitely in my sights though.

Goddammit you people. PLAY ME2 BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE. THERE IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO >:C
