This past week I've been really enjoying Deftone's Diamond Eyes.

As with most of my favorite albums, I didn't like it the first time I listened to it.  But the more I hear it, the more I enjoy it.

I've been on a 90's rock kick thanks to the XM radio in my car. Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction... Good stuff. I just wish they played more NiN.

Audioslave weren't a 90's band, formed in 2001, called it quits in 2007!    :P

Deftones have that quality, each of their albums has an ability to grow on you gradually - I haven't listened to DiamonEyes yet, the only track I've heard is via this video:

(which makes awesome use of color and light), but I remember having the same feeling with "Saturday Night Wrist" and their self-titled album, both of which are at the top of my rotation still.

I have to admit that whatever album that was on made me like her as an artist.

There was a week where my sister had to lend me her car.  In her car, the only CD's she had to listen to were that album and a bunch of children music CD's.  I would have probably never bothered to actually listen to it otherwise.

I haven't fully listened to her latest album, but what I've heard from it I like.

This past week I've been getting in touch with my inner hipster.  Dirty Projector's latest album (Bitte Orca) is fantastic.  I've tried listening to their their previous work and never really cared for it, but I think they really found some solid footing with Bitte Orca.
