Woah best part of the trailer 1:37 I want a helmet like that
Can't wait for Shenmue 3

I hate jokes that rely on visual imagery.

I've had it right up to here with them.

Vanquish UK release date confirmed
Mikami-developed title will be here in October

Sega has slapped a UK release date of October 22nd on Shinji Mikami's Vanquish - for PS3 and Xbox 360.

The outer-space action title - created by Mikami and Platinum Games in Japan - is looking every bit the Halo challenger, with critics raving about its potential post-E3.

Customers who pre-order the game from selected stores will receive exclusive access to a three-weapon pack, available via Xbox LIVE and PSN on release day.

The pack contains the Boost Machine Gun, Anti-Armor Pistol and Laser Cannon - which you can see in action around this very page.

The Boost Machine Gun is an early experimental weapon with impressive overall fire power and the speed to dispense rounds similar to that of a heavy machine gun.

The Anti-Armor Pistol fires a special penetrative shell and was manufactured to tackle hostile forces with much stronger.

I've just read theres no Multiplayer for this game, i'm defo gonna play it now. It'll mean all the achieves are offline and there won't be some half-assed tacked on MP.

Singularity was an amazing single player experience but a mediocre online one.

Lukehi

I did have some interest in this game until I just saw the release date.  It's in between Halo:Reach and COD:Black Ops...oh and its released the same day as Fallout:New Vegas.

Looks like it'll be another one for the "I'll rent when I'm really bored in the summer of 2011" list.

and yes I realise there's a lot of punctuation in those game names!

Putting the "stud" back in Bible Study

oh that's good, i might treat myself to this seeing as everyone else will be playing Fallout except me.

Woohoo! Vanquish has 'Casual Auto' and 'God Hard' modes

Vanquish is following in the stiletto-heel footsteps of Platinum's last action game, Bayonetta, in a couple of interesting ways. First, the Shinji Mikami-designed shooter is being outfitted with an optional "Casual Auto" difficulty level, much like Bayonetta's "Easy Automatic" mode, designed to allow even those new to action games have a good time.

"Once you get your target on the enemy, the rest is easy as pie," Mikami said in the blog post announcing the mode. "I'm sure saying it that way makes it sound totally uninteresting, but when you actually give it a shot, the tempo it gives the game play will make you jump up and say, 'Woohoo!'" That's the other way in which Vanquish echoes Bayonetta: exclamations. It's "Woohoo!" from the player, versus "Wuhhh!!" from Bayonetta. "You know ... 'Wuhhh!!'"

Vanquish also includes an unlockable "God Hard" difficulty. "I think our fans will get where this one is going," Mikami teased. We suspect apocalyptic beatdowns are to be found within this mode.

If it's anything like Bayonetta, then there will be a huge contrast in the difficulty levels!

Vanquish demo due next week

PlatinumGames producer Atsushi Inaba has confirmed a demo for upcoming third-person shooter Vanquish.

That's according to Andriasang, which reports that the demo is due out for PS3 and Xbox 360 on 2nd September in Japan, at least.

The teaser will allow players to go through a prologue sequence and go up against Argos in a boss fight, perhaps emerging with some bargain cutlery and a couple of new draught excluders.

Called "Velocity Attack", the demo will be playable on casual and normal difficulties. The former diminishes your manhood by introducing an auto-aim feature.

According to reports, the demo at next month's Tokyo Game Show will expand on Velocity Attack with new playable areas and a surprise appearance by a familiar face.

Vanquish is a third-person cover shooter set in the near future when the world's resources are almost depleted.

The Russians and US are violently disputing ownership of a space station designed to draw energy from the sun, and you play a dude in a lightweight mech suit sent in to separate the men from the armoured soldiers with rechargeable shields.

I will download it later, might help me decide. Does it have online multiplayer?
