Marvel has put a unique spin on an old Konami gaming code by using it to unlock a hidden surprise within its website.

Fans logging on to Marvel.com can enter a special button combination to reveal a strange character on-screen.

Pressing certain keys - Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A - followed by enter, prompts a Deadpool-like rodent to appear.

The code was used in many Konami games to grant special abilities or secret surprises.

Can't wait for Shenmue 3

I hate jokes that rely on visual imagery.

I've had it right up to here with them.

Is this via a keyboard or some special superhero gadget us mere mortals have no access to?

Kyuubi

I checked it out on the internet when I saw this and it made me giggle.

I used the arrow keys as I was on my laptop and it was all good!

The espn website did the same thing not long ago, but I don't think it was on purpose.

I think someone actually hacked into the site and added a bunch of rainbow and unicorns if you enter the Konami code.

...  :D
