losing the internet

hi guys, as you know we are having trouble with sky, and may lose our services for a while, does anybody know how we can get online with our xboxes until its resolved cheers guys xx

nope, the swines double billed me, and wont accept liability, so i told them to shove the box up their butts, news just in, virgin have emailed me, and are taking over the line as of the 25th feb, apparantly they can re-activate the phoneline, so even if sky do cut us off it will only be for just over a week

It looks like Sky is making a last-chance grab for cash before they lose the business.

i nearly fell over laughing when i asked virgin what would happen if sky blocked the phone line-we will just re-activate it, class !!!!

My love for Sky  ..... gone?!!?

I bought a shiny new N-300 Modem a few months ago, for game nights to make everyones experience as lag free as possible (as i'm on Wi-Fi).

i wondered why it never worked, apparently Sky don't let you use other Modems apart from the one the give you. A crappy old G router.

So apart from me being ringing their customer service 5 times (they never mentioned anything), i found out by accidentally clicking a wrong link. So now i've had to piggy back my N-router to my Sky router and disable the Sky Wi-fi and the N-300 DHCP. It works and is super fast, but i have 500000000000 wires running about and plugs galore! Still, it's mega quick and youtube is loading in seconds. I also updated my DNS numbers for some super quick ones instead of Sky shite.

NOW IM PYSCHED FOR SOME GAMING!!! BEWARE THE HOST ADVANTAGE!

Awesome, just watched a video on LIVE and i usually get a 1-2min loading bar ...... NONE!!!

hi guys, still here for now , very bizzare, net should have gone by now, got me thinking, sky send a signal to the router, which switches it off, but im thinking it will only take effect if i reset my router, which i havent yet done, so, in theory if i dont reset my router-i keep my net, i hope, wont be able to go on xbl though- didnt see any point in renewing my gold duuhhh wish i had now, never mind, could all be wishful thinking, beggars may find a way round it yet, ahh well, back for good in ten days anyhoo xx

just had an email from sky, telling me they cant cancel my account as i owe money, i sent one back saying it will be a cold day in hell before i stump up my hard earned cash to pay somethin i dont owe, hmm wonder what they will say to that, let the sky wars begin

Like I said above, it looks like they're trying to squeeze as much money out of their accounts before they lose the business to Virgin.  They can't collect on an account that's cancelled, so they're hoping you'll pay them if they leave it on.

My advice - don't pay.  Hold out, and you'll probably get to keep your internet connection until Virgin takes over.
